How to find H1B Visa Job

How to find H1B Visa Job

hey folks how's it going this is uncle

Jerry coming at you from Detroit

Michigan very excited to be here today

and talking to you I'm gonna share my

experience today and some of the tips if

you have been laid off and you're

looking for unfortunately right now how

do you really approach the job market

and even if the times are tough you

can't find a job so first of all I would

like to share a quick experience about

how I was laid off in 2018 and what I

had to go through to find a job so just

like you if you're going through a job

loss right now I'm really sorry to hear

that but let me be honest it is going to

happen like it fears if it hasn't

happened to you yet just wait because as

an immigrant you have to get used to

these kind of challenges and it will

happen to you so in my case I lost my

job on ma in March mid-march and then I

had only 60 days to find a new

opportunity so I really had to plan

every single aspect of my job

application to get a job so the way I

did that is I'm gonna give you four tips

on how to get a job within 60 days so if

you are a good candidate I would say

that 60 days should be enough for you to

really find opportunity but you have to

be very persistent and consistent with

your application but the first thing I

would like to tell you is update your

resume that's the number one thing I

tell people from my experience which

most of us are hesitant to do if we go

through a job loss because for me

personally updating a resume and doing

this all over again it just felt like a

chore and then never got interested into

doing that but that's the biggest

mistake some of us do because first of

all the reason you wanna update your

resume is you have actually worked at

another

you've been this experience and you want

to use that for your advantage

second thing I always do is support the

first question is when you're updating

your resume I would suggest just keep

the position you are working at as still

working you know you don't want to say

that you have been laid off yet you can

answer that question

in the interview but I would suggest

from my experience it's easier to find a

job if people know you have a job

because sometimes we might come as

desperate or really needy in in an

opportunity if part of an opportunity so

use your judgment there don't listen to

me everything I say but use your

judgment and thought process behind it

second tip I would like to say is how do

you find these companies which are

related to your field for example I

worked in civil engineering and I had

only known maybe 15 to 20 companies in

Detroit area which were civil

engineering but there were hundreds of

other companies which I did not know

about so the way I did it is first of

all I looked at my LinkedIn account and

I looked at all the people who have

worked in the industry in my local area

so for example let's say let's take a

John like an John worked at let's say

different for different companies and

he's working at an X company right now

so what I'll do is I'll go through all

these four companies here's work back

and I'll write them down on a piece of

paper and I'll make a note of them then

I also find out which of these companies

was John really got his h-1b now if you

know John personally you can ask him but

if not you also want to do your own

research you can find it out where this

company sponsors h-1b people or not so I

wouldn't waste my time really applying

to companies which do not sponsor

immigrants because if your goal is to

get sponsorship and a job then

that's something you all need to look

into so I always look for companies that

are already sponsored people because I

don't want to keep changing jobs

I want to go at the right place at the

right time that's something I would do

so look at your LinkedIn profile and

find out the companies which other

people have worked at that's the best

way to find local companies now

the tip third tip I would like to give

you is this is actually my secret tip

and I really had to figure out my own

situation and practice a lot in

applications to really develop this so

first thing you need to do is whenever

you apply for a company for example

let's say you applied for Zook on calm

you know and then what you do is you go

to that website and you find out where

there is an email or a location where

you can send in a Curie or question if

you have an inquiry so what I do at

certain places like that is I will

always send another copy of my resume

through that so most times what happens

is if the HR is not able to get to that

resume through your application they

will always end up getting this email

and they will always have your resume in

their system so that's the best way I do

it then another the last tip I would

like to give you this is a bonus tip you

can see is these algorithms sometimes

keep you from getting to your position

getting to your interview because this

big companies have algorithms playing

what I would do is just copy the job

description in your resume make it font

can and change the color to white this

way it's it's in there but you can't see

it if you print it so what happens this

way is the algorithms actually see that

you have same job description criteria

in your resume and you

get your abortion in that way so this is

all I had for you today but if you like

what I said give me a thumbs up and if

you don't like what I said leave me a

comment and tell me what you did not

like because I would like to improve

maybe I would like to know your

experience also but thank you for

listening today and I'll see you next

time bye
